No, Jaime Lannister is canonically from Denmark. It's a pretty weird line in the books and a lot people think GRRM wrote it as a joke and left it in on accident. They're probably going to skip over it in the show though.

Furry refers to any anthropomorphic (or "anthro") stuff: characters, porn, art, people, fursuits, porn, conventions, meetups, groups, the general "fandom", porn, etc. You take a wolf or whatever and make it walk on two legs, basically (in the context of furries, anthropomorphism only includes physical aspects). Scalie/scaly is sometimes used to refer to things with scales, or those who prefer things with scales. When used to refer to the group as a whole there's not a whole lot of difference (they still all like anthro stuff), but I suppose it'd be useful if one was looking for scalie stuff. Furry just caught on because the fandom started with animals with fur and it's what the majority prefer.

In actual happy news, I have coffee!

I also found a fairly large board game event in the area that happens every Wednesday. Of course since this is Portland, aka "Beervana", it's at a bar, which would normally make my minor self very sad (only 6 more months...), but they have a diner section that closes at 10 PM so I can get at least a few hours in (starts at 7). Regularly gets 100+ people, which is awesome.
