I'm gonna see if I can't just keep humans out of it, at least from the beginning.

First though, I need to flesh out the society and the characters I would write, before I worry about actual plot...

That sounds cool. I'd read it, if you decide to go for it.

Now I want to write a story about humans/aliens in a very metal rich environment that have the ability to ingest ore/metals and extrude it like wax, to be molded and shaped however they need.

Possibly go full!BEES and make them hive-minded too. Or better, individuals but who are compelled by pheromones/sounds emitted by the Queen. Like, go do what you want on your off-time, but you serve the Queen when she wants you to.

Giant cities full of extruded metal and worker-humans, working for the glory of the Iron Queen and her Hive.

By the way that sounds, the creatures are eating metal then shitting it out from die inserted rectums.

That's technically an action, not a speech... Well it was only a matter of time before I had to write another scene of utter and horrifying perversion.

Please don't shitpost, it lowers the quality of discourse
Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I can see the news now.  "Queen signs agreement with the pillow colony for doughnut pillows in trade for excess copper reserves.  News expected to greatly increase morale for workers in the tungsten processing areas."

I like the idea of the hapless explorer accidentally sparking off a rebellion.

He'd be like 'can you'? And everyone would reply, "we don't know, we've never tried". So they'll try and it will be a full scale civil war complete with hundreds of killed people and when they eventually overthrow the queen they'll be all horrified like "what do we do now, why did we even do that" and the explorer will say "to see if you could" and Oooh Nooo humanity's greatest triumph is it's greatest flaw omg paradise lost biblical references and cheese.

But the steel melting thing, that's cool.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Every single one of their expressions kills me. Not sure whether tan mermaid's surprised :3 or cowboy's sidelong stare at the bee is best, though.

Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.
