I've got 172 pages of critiques on my 10-page story! I just wish we'd have had more time to talk about it in class, but workshopping is great (because captive audience!)

Got a commision! Well, maybe, not sure if I'll be able to take it yet or not.

Also having one of the longest talks on the phone with a friend right now, it's nothing specific, he's drunk and feeling chatty and I like the company.

There is something deeply validating about reading in-depth criticism of something you created. And one of my classmates gleaned a lot about me (though they probably don't realize it) from my story, more than I thought people would reading it. Yet, there it is on the critique letter.

TBH, The Colour of Magic isn't that great, being more an attempt to lampoon as many fantasy tropes as possible. It's the ones that come after that get really interesting.
