The LEGO Movie was boss.

I didn't mind the Lego Movie until it stepped back and revealed the whole thing with the humans. Then it was cringe-worthy.

You clearly didn't have any touching LEGO-related moments when you were a kid >:c

The theme song was fucking awful, but other than that I quite liked it.

The theme song was nothing more than a parody of soulless, catchy pop music. It was awesome.

That was what I loved about the song. Bonus points for the fact that I haven't met one person who likes said soulless pop music who realizes it was a parody.

Well, sure, pop music  is generally awful. That didn't make the theme song any less painful to listen to.
I actually liked the ending.

The ending, or the "ending"? The "ending" was a setup for the plot of the sequel, which is coming out in three years.

Presumably. It's apparently set to take place four years after the end of the first film. Putting my money on either darker-and-edgier due to the increased age of the son or, worst-case scenario, Toy Story 3 ripoff.

There's also apparently a planned sequel featuring LEGO!Batman set to come out a year sooner.
