Not the first one, Hector. JC2 is quite possibly one of my favorite games ever. It's hilarious.

I have heard it's ridiculous '80s action movie awesome.

I'm just not really sure about it, after my non-start experience with the first one.

JC1 sucked sweaty gorilla balls. JC2 was a fucking masterpiece and an example of what sandbox games should be. It's what Far Cry 3 was trying and failing to be.

You didn't play enough, and I'm guessing you just followed the shitty story missions.

See above. If you were playing the story missions you were doing it wrong.

Just Cause 2 has no story. You don't play the story. You do this. It's a game where this is the best method of travel (though you can go a hell of a lot faster if you use the technique where you drop the parachute each time you grapple and briefly pop it open to gain altitude between grapples -- faster than pretty much anything except jets). Seriously, it's pretty much "Why grappling hooks, parachutes, and explosions are awesome: the game."
