I actually spent it all on college, and still wound up with $3k in student loans for an associate's degree.

I don't doubt it; but I've seen and heard stories; and running the numbers (~5600 a year, 4 classes min=~1600 a semester at a CC) thats 2800 a year, plus books and other fees, like any lab costs.

That's 1000 a semester left over, easy.
