My new minis are wonderful, it's so nice to hold pewter again (screw off finecast), and have a painting project to look forward to. Got half of them cleaned up and ready for gluing.

in other news i ordered a hundred kilos of limestone. limestone costs 300 bucks a ton. even diorite is more expensive, so i took it on a whim, i am going to have so much borderline legal fun with my pile of lime

a while back limestone was ridiculously cheap for local standards so in as the shining beacon of wisdom i am i carefully mismanaged some documents in order to get a hundred kilos of it extra (the place i work at orders it anyway so why not) though i shifted some personal cash down to accounting so everything would be legitimate and morally proper^TM

after i got it home i noticed i have no idea what to do with a tenth of a ton of limestone so i'm trying to make people believe it's going to be some kind of street art exhibit so people visit it and try to make sense of what it's supposed to mean while i sit in a strategically located cafe and snicker but the cost/benefit threshold has really been surpassed a long while back so i might get what's possible to chisel into blocks to blocks and the rest into figurines or what the hell and maybe even turn a profit if i spend some time painting them a little bit

i think graknorke said you can farm truffles on limestone a while back. i still haven't looked into how that would work.

go buy a ton of limestone and dump it in a preschool or something

i've dumped it in a lecture hall of a local university that i heard was normally used for geology, wasn't enough to fill any of it so there were just random rocks in random places and i don't think it even inconvenienced them much

replaced an extremely stupid loading algorithm in my project to a much smarter one, and went from 101264ms load times to 80ms.

that's over one thousand times the loading speed.

This has reminded me that I missed Nathan Fillion at the local Comicon last year. My friend has a picture of him with his arm around her, there is much jealousy haha. He was a surprise last minute attendee.
And just checked, we get Billie Piper this year! (and Wil Wheaton). This may be the year I go! Now I'm crossing my fingers for Tenant, dare I dream?
