I wonder how many words there are in this thread... The thread must rival LOTR in wordcount at this point.

It probably impossible to know how many words without counting. Many pages are full of short, couple word posts; others can be incredibly huge, stuffed by long posts.


Hey Bay 12. I've been incredibly busy, but I'm still alive. Coming here while so busy would have been irresponsible, but life has been easing up (and in a positive way too!) I can (in a month and a half or so) finally start relaxing a little bit, so I'll be here more. Haven't even really had a chance to get a crack at the new version of DF.

My mum pointed something out. I can put 'Built a PC' on my CV. Which, whilst not complex, to people that don't know...
Ooh, I should write this up. If I can find my CV that is.

... I don't think I have my CV anymore. What a bummer.

Yay, finally figured out how to kill the AMD catalyst control center! :D

Which means my computer has stopped BSOD'ing every time I try to open a program. Apparently AMD's worthless CCC interacts poorly with the Rift drivers.

Bought Half-Life 2 yesterday. I played this game for 8 hours yesterday, and am apparently only a little over halfway through. After that I have Lost Coast and the Episodes to get through, which will at least double the goodness if number of chapters in anything to go by. I can certainly see where the Half-Life 3 hype comes from. Best of all though, it's such an old game that my crappy laptop can run it with noissues whatsoever!

Also, unrelated happy note, the weather here is finally above freezing and it's sunny!

Making a space invader game as a tutorial for Stencyl. Bullets were working, but it seems that whenever an enemy died, the bullets heading for it got stuck. Some of them even spun away. This looked very ugly.
Before, when I really sucked at coding anything, I would have given up. A solution came to me this time: make the bullets kill themselves when their speed is zero.

Yes, I know it's a very simple solution to a minor problem, but fuck it, I have never experienced the loveliness of actually fixing a bug.
