After getting my templates and artwork for work, courtesy of my client, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the variety of templates and number of images to compile into them, not to mention coming across a few bugs here and there; but I managed to resolve myself of the bugs from day-0 (not charging my client for that, out of courtesy; not their fault things were a tad off. This happens all the time, I'm used to it.). My client appreciates the effort I put into it, since they don't have to do anything on their end anymore, or at all (missing fonts resolved, along with other minor errors, like transparency and such).
During my downtime, I did what I generally do with my games, and crafted myself an inventory (for the templates and workload/logos used) and stat-tracker/checklist out of Notepad++ and/or Excel. I also crafted a gameplan based on the notes I've been given for the project this week (along with my own) and developed a timeline I can work with. After making a few samples and such (to get a better idea of my client's expectations), and getting a feel for things, I think I now have a way to make this a bug-free standard routine now (that I can do whenever convenient right now, before deadline, since it's my only job for the time being). So work should be at a more casual difficulty now, and WAY more efficient (my client shouldn't be disappointed with the results now that the crap that dammed the river is cleared now), instead of what it was otherwise.
Thank goodness. The last thing I need work to feel like is work.
Besides a rather small weekly time limit (though I still make a generous income despite that factor, relatively speaking; good enough to still pay bills as a foundation job), and a rather heftier demand yield than expected, I should be able to haul ass if I fall behind, or max-out my output; potentially exceeding my client's expectations. I can always use another 5-star rating on my profile. Just as well, now that things are efficient with my setup now, I can also take on more jobs for other weeks too; yielding more income. Gonna try to clear at least an hour or 2 tonight so I have less time to worry about tomorrow (first week's deadline's pretty close), freeing up more time.
