Ha, when I joined I was a half wit. Now I'm a three quarter wit.

Really, when I think what I was like even two years ago, I cringe. My use of grammar wasn't great, my punctuation less than satisfactory. I owe a lot to this forum, to be quite honest. My first poems were on Necrothreat. The first one posted there...wasn't good. My grades in school were quite frankly terrible. In my GCSEs I got six Cs. That's a terrible result. I had to repeat them, and thank God I did. I did considerably better second time round. As in, the two sets of results had nothing in common bar it was me taking the exam.

So yea, I'm glad for the passage of time. I was an immature brat, and I suppose I still am, just a slightly different blend.

 Also, Caroline, all I can recall of you has always been good-I have absolutely nothing bad to say about you. I can remember you helping people, and that's not something everyone tries to do.

Duuude. I was the same. Loud, stupid, and obnoxious. I am now quiet, moderately smart (depends on who you ask) and...The opposite of obnoxious.

And yeah, i didn't post on here for a long time after I joined. Spent most of my time browsing the modding forum.
And then I went to GD, after slowing coming out of my (fearful) shell. Suddenly, people! Like a big, loving, e-family.

When I joined this forum I basically went around picking fights that I knew I couldn't win and making 2 games a week on FGRP.

Now i'm still obnoxious, but i'm mature in that I don't pick fights. I guess. I'm not really the one to comment on the status of my own maturity.

I didn't think I really changed at all since joining. But then I looked at my posts from 2.5 years ago. Wow. It is terrifying. I didn't even use punctuation.

When I first joined I was a bit more formal and apathetic, since that seems to be what the cool kids do.

Let's be brief here:
We don't have a massive group of cats and dogs because we prevent them from breeding.

I say that male pet cats should be available for castration to prevent catsplosion.

This should also be available for dogs as well, but of course, not birds.

I know this might be a bit hard to do, but it's the only way to stop them.

Well, it was pretty edgy. So I'm emulating the DF players.
I also made a KKK joke the first time i was on #bay12lb, so yeah, I kind of associate Bay12 with political incorrectness until I got sorted out on that.

Let's see...

First, I was an upperboard addict, usually copying Shook's art-style in the Draw your Adventures thread.

Later, I started writing and subsequently shelved a fantasy novel, posting about it in Creative Projects and beginning the deep slide into lowerboardosity.

Then, I bought some D&D 4e rulebooks, went down to FG&RP (skipping GD entirely), and made my first forum game, recruiting 10 people (thereby going right over my own head), none of whom I had met before.

Then I joined GD, started 3.5 games, found Cata in Other Games, and self-promoted myself to the position of Arch-Wizard.

...I wonder, to this day, what would've happened it I'd gotten bored of DF and left the forums. Perhaps I would have never played D&D, never had a larger group of friends, never gotten into fantasy, and led a boring, uneventful life. Or perhaps I'd have become a SomethingAwful goon, or a 4chan neckbeard, or retreated to the depths of some forum for a mainstream game like Minecraft. Perhaps I'd have recursively gotten into D&D from Tolkien's works and joined Brilliant Gameologists, or perhaps fire up DF again one day and return to Bay12 on a whim, long past the times of the scanfad, the DF2014 release, the appearance of tuypo1. Maybe somebody else would have proclaimed themselves arch-wizard, and pulled infinite numbers of D&D games out of their hat.

Oh well. It's not like we live in that universe.
