It's a nice story. Despite the reputation of 4chan [which I guess is the stopper there].

Well, I did read the story, but realized where it was after the fact.
Which is a scary thing, considering the aforementioned reputation.

/tg/ is the relatively friendly cool uncle of the 4chan family, it's just that he's got that one buddy who likes his 40K a little too much and the other one who is still starting editionwars arguments with everyone. But mostly it's quests, epic storytime, and MtG card threads. It's not /b/, /d/, /pol/, or /v/. Thank me for resisting the urge to add the obvious TVTropes link to that.

Besides, that's from the archive. It's like looking at Lenin's preserved corpse and reacting as if you were a Russian peasant with future knowledge a month after he died (though I will admit that it's darkly hilarious how Lenin's prime reason for not wanting Stalin to succeed him was because he was "rude"). And wow but that analogy got away from me.

My life satisfaction has been increasing a hell of a lot. I have cheap silicone ice cube trays that make star-shaped ice, I have nice stationery, I have a room that's fucking full of books, I live in a house with a goddamn cat, and I fucking love my job. It's hit that sweet spot where it's fun, I'm learning a lot, I feel useful and respected, and I can even eat. I spend pretty much all my time reading, studying, and teaching, and that's fine by me.
