For yourself using whatever rules and boundaries you want because it's supposed to be your experience and while there's much to say about challenge adding to enjoyment when you attempt to enforce it upon others you're kinda showing how fragile your accomplishment actually is if you need to cajole others into using the same handicaps.

I haven't played one of those 'people dying along the way as you progress through the story' games in a while.
Wouldn't mind picking up one to play through, but unfortunately most such games are anime-themed jRPGs... can anyone recommend a good tactical RPG which cuts the weaboo stuff? Preferably something on console, since computer=potato.

@Tir: I was more looking for isometric, turn-based games like the ones being discussed... I didn't really explain that too well.
Where there's an ongoing campaign and you have to manage your party, keep them alive and level them up and all.
Like Final Fantasy but not lame, preferably.
