I am no savescummer. 'twould be crass. I played on Classic, because I wanted the true experience. I guess it's a side effect of military management in DF.

Also, Frederick and katanaguy whose name I can't remember are awesome in combat. Especially good ol' nuclear tank Fred, although katanaguy reminds me of a certain awesome Warder from an entirely different series.

Also also, I was not happy when my shiny silver spear snapped in two. I guess that's what I get for using silver weapons.

Actually when it comes to Fire Emblem the true experience actually is savescumming. Barely anyone doesn't do No Death Runs. Not to criticize I mean, more power to you  I suppose.

Yeah, really. If I was going to savescum, I'd have hit Casual.

But savescumming is a Fire Emblem staple

The entire point of casual mode is that you don't have to restart a map after a character runs out of HP, unless of course you're doing it your way and you don't care about having a no-death run.

Its a reflex that's been built into the community since the start of the series. Every character lost takes a ton out of the game, and so it's a part of the challenge to go and figure out the puzzle of how to avoid everyone dying. As a matter of fact you've probably lost about maybe 15-20% of the games content as a result of those deaths (and with them some of the best units in the game). Tis why every fire emblem game has a built in reset button combo.

The games actually do try to actively encourage you to savescum via some of their mechanics, but oh well no biggy. I do however encourage you to do a no death run on your second playthrough. You're missing out on a looooot of stuff by letting the characters die.

I haven't played one of those 'people dying along the way as you progress through the story' games in a while.
Wouldn't mind picking up one to play through, but unfortunately most such games are anime-themed jRPGs... can anyone recommend a good tactical RPG which cuts the weaboo stuff? Preferably something on console, since computer=potato.
