I think I might have a decent system worked out for the more stat-y and less rp-y part of a forum game I have an idea for. :) It involves sky castles and I keep wondering if I missed something important or not.

* Arcvasti's cat ears perk up
[Should add those to Viceroyscan at some point. Does anyone know a decent photoshop program I wouldn't have to pay for?]

Did I hear FORUM GAME WITH SKY CASTLES?

* Arcvasti DOES indeed want, very much so

On the subject of forum games

Have I opened too many?

Depth over breadth. I'd focus on deepening the ones you have, since several of the ones I'm in seem somewhat shallow. And really, as long as you update them on schedule and the games are enjoyable, you can have as many as you want. But I think adding many more might stretch you too far.

I'm interested in the game~

Also current not updating games on my part is due to crippling system errors on compy.

Good thing I managed to back it up before it went kaput.

oOOOOH, glyphs are cool. What for? If its a forum game, I totes want in.

Unrelated happy:

I've almost got Wheel of Time memorized. Hell yeah.
Not a forum game, no. Actually, at this point, probably not my RPG either. It was a nice idea, but I seriously do not have the inspirational wellspring to shit out the requisite 10 of these things* that proper symmetry would require. At least, not and do them all justice.

*10 different styles of technique (5 of which are magical spells, 5 of which are natural talents), each of which would be mapped to a circle (or square, for talents) like this desktop, which was Alchemy's.  Each has several disciplines (50 in total), each of which I'd need to gin up a glyph for.

EDIT: Also, yes, GIMP is amazing and you should get it. You could also consider Photoshop; CS2 was released for free a while ago, and Google should be more than competent to find it.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well my roll to dodges I don't take seriously and don't plan on taking them too deep

My other games I have plans on how to deepen them
Like Sanctuary just got fresh blood and is rolling along pretty well

My great river main game however seems to have become a total flop .-.

I was just thinking of making a sanctuary SG that was more based on scavenging/zombie killing and less talking

Also my great river politics is another thing I would like to bring back since I finally got the ability to post maps

I remember that background from the desktops thread, Bauglir. It was pretty cool.

Found a program to record things such as gameplay. Though the output quality is terrible. I'll have to fiddle with the settings.

I'm also about half-way finished the very tedious process of grinding out rare upgrades in an MMO I've been playing. It hasn't even been a half of a week since I started, and if I keep up this pace I'll likely have the fastest run of my group of friends. Though getting these items is only the first step of the full process. There's still a monstrous amount of grind to come after.

I'd totally be interested in reviewing it. Also, thanks for the advice for GIMP. Intensified cat-eared salamancers may or may not follow shortly.

Avatar looks really cool. However, it also grinds my computer to a halt whenever it appears on a page.

Hmmm, that can't be the Avatar causing it. If you use chrome, try Imgur to gyfcat. It changes all gifs hosted on imgur to HTML5 videos, and they load much faster.

I use IE. Because my Firefox died and I can't stand Chrome. Besides, I usually browse the forums on a netbook, which could be compared unfavourably to a tuber-like root vegetable in processing power.
