I've finally got out of the overly long planning phase of this project, and actually get to start working on it practically. It's so much easier, and so much more fun!

Finally got my last paycheck from my temp job. Manage to build a computer, pay my loans and be a helpful member of my family for a while. With this paycheck, I'm back to square one with with zero gains or loses.

Overall, I'm happy with my kickass computer.

Recursion made me happy, and I challenge everybody to unzip this file(28kB) completely.

I am reasonably certain that's a bit of fancy computer-magicery that creates more as it goes along, rather than referring to itself.

Sort of? The zip file's data is constructed such that the decompression algorithm produces the original file. So it really does both, depending on how you want to describe it. More information.

I reactivated my gym membership yesterday.  My first day today.  Tempted to do a photo bit showing the results.

other than that I am so super stoked about this and my muscles are aching to go and cyclically move around these rods with heavy weights welded onto the sides.  Also pushes and running ans swimming and the classes that men are afraid to go in because its all women (read: physically fit mid 20-30s girls with tight clothing) are there.  Essentially all the things I used to do, just earlier in the day now.

I revised the text placement code I was using. It's now 50 lines shorter, significantly more efficient*, much more legible, and actually does what it's supposed to do now.

Past Bauglir was a moron, but Present Bauglir is marginally less so!

*I can't prove this because I never ran diagnostics, but I completely eliminated recursion, removed a bunch of wholly unnecessary lists, and eliminated a few functions entirely.
