I had to take two years of Spanish. Loved the language, hated the teacher more than any human can ever know.

If you have to take a language just to graduate, do a fun one. There's plenty of languages that are fairly easy but aren't your standard Spanish/French/German fare...try Persian or Swahili sometime. Or Quechua, on the off-chance that that's offered at your university...

I had to take two years of American Sign Language back in high school.

Promptly forgot most of it but I can still recognize a couple of signs here and there.

Took French here in uni because I already had 3 years of high-school experience with it. And it really is fascinating when you learn it, you can see just how bits of it transformed into modern English. "Cette" and "That", "Vingt et un" and "Twenty-one", etc.

Except I'm still taking it and will continue to do so until I've done enough for an advanced diploma.

I know how you feel. I was just working on a project I was sure I would never be able to make into a game, and was pleased as punch to see that when the protagonist got mugged or bought something in the store, their money would go down!

It is pretty rudimentary at the moment, as you can tell. It relies so much on randomness it's practically a shrine to the RNG.
