This evening a discussion about how to deal with my fuckwad flatmate devolved into a proposal to convert to neopaganism and sacrifice a chicken in the (campus-owned) apartment complex parking lot on the spring equinox at sunrise. Does anybody know if this would actually be legal?

According to court rulings, it seems religious freedom would be priority, provided you make a reasonable case for being a believer and that being an actual part of the religion. You will have to go to court, though.

They aren't allowed, but it's not exactly a pet if you have it around for less than 24 hours and then immediately sacrifice it.

Maybe I'll just, like, go out camping in the countryside if I just want to do a weird pseudo-ritual for the sake of having a weird pseudo-ritual.

What I mean is, if they don't allow pets then they likely wouldn't allow any animals for any length of time. You might get a pass on the sacrifice only to get slammed with a fine for bringing an animal onto school property
