Like, uh, sports games. Not like that's a billion dollar industry or anything.

A billion-dollar industry for lazy people.

The traditional conflict (e.g. struggle between two forces) is still there, though. Few popular games manage not having one, and those that do (like Animal Crossing or playing Minecraft on Peaceful/Creative) have something other than traditional conflict backing them, generally a huge brand name like Nintendo or some innovative feature like a full-on sandbox mode or some sort of uniquely flavored setting.

I'm not saying aforementioned hypothetical MMO would be bad, but there would be almost no players, unless, for example, the fishing and farming was something you had to do to survive, or if the game had a huge game world that constantly had stuff added to it, or the like.

With respect: Point and clicks, management games, sims, rhythm games, lots of adventure games, puzzle games, artistic games-

Combat games are the minority.
