Actually getting into the university has been a royal pain in the posterior, what with all the bureaucratic tedium to which the embassy subjected me and my father in order to make sure that we are not rabid pro-russian terrorists (no, seriously), but Edinburgh itself is absolutely stunning and the people are nice, even if they sound like they are choking on their own tongues half the time.

Speaking of the secession referendum, I am honestly surprised how peaceful everything is. I expected more violent riots, pogroms and murders.
