Got to be an office aid at school today. It's a lot of exercise in a school like ours, which is very vertical.

The seniors went on their retreat today. I'm the only junior in Honors Calculus, and the Calc teacher was one of the chaperones on the retreat, so I had nothing to do. Office aiding is normally done by seniors who have an empty slot in their schedules, but there weren't any seniors today. So, the Calc teacher told me that that was what I was going to do.

Office aiding consisted of sorting through notes for students, looking them up in the big schedule binder, writing the number of the room they were currently in on the note, and subsequently delivering it. There were a lot of notes pertaining to the upcoming PSAT, but after I got through those, I was delivering notes as fast as the secretary could write them. So I'd run up two flights of stairs, deliver a note, go back down two flights of stairs, get a note, run back up two flights of stairs, deliver it to the same classroom, run back down the stairs, get another note, run it back up two flights of stairs, deliver it to a different classroom, and so on and so forth.

Operation Towel appears to have been a success.

So I showed up 20 or 30 minutes late to my sociology class because I thought it started later, wearing basically nothing but a towel (and shorts and underwear, and shoes, technically) and right when the professor was talking about social deviation, when an individual does something outside the norm for some reason. Quoth the professor in a joking tone of voice, "And sometimes examples of social deviation just walk through the door. As you can see, he's breaking the social norm of not being late to class." (no mention of my lack of shirt and my only garment being a towel.)

Everyone got a good laugh out of that, myself included. Perfect timing.

Got lots of comments of support from people after class, including fist bumps, "mad props bro", "you got balls dude," and "that was perfect timing for that, dude. Genius." Professor liked it too, saying I was the first person to show up without a shirt to class for the "breaking social norms" assignment. Then he noticed the towel. Then he just started laughing and asking what some of the reactions I got while walking to class were like.

Walking around in only a towel is hella comfortable for Texas heat, fyi.

My english teacher is moving, so she's getting rid of a bunch of books. I'm getting the entire Wheel of Time series for free.

I'm going to a concert with my girlfriend wednesday. The Black Keys.

I seem to be past the point where working out is painful, and now it actually feels good. And I've lost a few pounds.

I'm in a good mood.
