A 10000 word essay on penguins would thus probably need them to each catch 100 penguins to write it all down on. Though if they switched to writing with whiteout for the dark feathers, they could utilize a larger surface area on each penguin and maybe cut that number down to just catching 30 penguins each. Quite the worthy challenge either way.

It the skin of the penguin was properly treated I would imagine you could make it quite a good writing surface. You could probably glue some to paper and use that in a printer. It would take some work, as a standard printer might not accept penguin paper, but I'm sure there are some heavy duty ones out there that can. If you then used size 1 font, you would easily be able to reach 10,000 words on a single page of penguin paper. Or yeah, you could just write it out by hand on hundreds of live penguins.
