Operation Flashpoint, 2001. You in a game can look around without moving your gun. Also, you can aim your gun without moving your sight.

Yes. Now we can do it with motion controls, not a keyboard+mouse.

Doing it without motion controls seems rather convulted and confusing.
Besides, this allows you to do more than point your gun in other directions, you can hold it in front of your eye so you can actually aim down the sights and stuff.

What I've seen is that your accuracy tanks with these motion controls. So I think this will remain a gimmick in shooter games.

Now, if these motion controls were applied to a sword-fighting game...
