Okay, clothes purchased for that wedding I have to attend. 90 bucks is a steep price for an outfit, but I'm happy to get that done with, and simply pray the shoes I already have are adequate since buying new ones would cost as much as everything else put together.

Still, 30 dollars for a tie? I'm only even going to wear it once, I hate ties.

In a sense, yes. A tasteful tie makes you stand that much more out than the hundreds of other faceless coworkers trying to get that promotion. Of course, over doing would just make you look like a joke

I just spent almost €1500 ($2000) on PC parts. Part prices are really damn high in Europe, and having absolutely no old parts or accessories to reuse doesn't make this any better. Still, it's gonna be a great PC. Unless, of course, I mess up while building it.

Bah! There's all sorts of things you can do with the cut of your clothes, hair, glasses, etc. Y'know, subtle things. I may have spent two decades denying it, but I've realized recently I do actually have a sense of style. Somehow. Probably not a great one, but it's there. Anyway, patterned ties especially don't do it for me - I actually paid twice what I technically had to just so that the tie I got was unpatterned in the proper color.
