Just received a copy of H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction, as well as a compilation of the Dune books and a Magic: The Gathering booster that happened to have some great cards for the colours I play, plus one that gives me an excuse to splash black, which I'd been wanting to do anyways. All in all, probably the best very early birthday present ever.

I'm fucking exhausted, but I got almost all my packing and cleaning done before work today, so I can have a reasonably leisurely morning before I finish wiping down some cabinets, packing up my kitchen stuff, and loading everything into the car before noon.

I'm still sad about leaving what's been a great home, but at least it won't be a hellish rush.

Doing a three day, two night college orientation. The University of California, Santa Cruz is so fucking chill. I took a ride share shuttle thing, which confirmed the stereotype that the best products of the area star with W. (I'm taking about pot and wine. [Neither is my cup of tea, but It's good to know.]) Did the standard short tour thing, where we saw two deer not 30 feet away, just munching on their grass, and occasionally glancing at the party of 30-50 loud teenagers. Saw a doe and her fawns later. They were no more fazed than before. For an evening activity, they pulled out board games and put on the Lego movie.
This place is fucking awesome.
