I'd want Abe to be in Smash, but I know it will never happen because Abe can't really do anything besides freerun, possess shit, talk to shit and throw shit. Not good for a fighting game.

Uh. There are plenty of characters already in with far less in the way of combat capabilities, so that's really not an argument against him.
I think the fact that Nintendo doesn't own the Oddworld franchise is the bigger problem here. It'd be awesome, though.
I imagine something in his moveset would involve possession and that mount (whatever his name was), and his final smash would be gibbing everyone.

His final smash would be turning into the Shrykull, hands down.

It would still be possible, since Nintendo doesn't own Solid Snake, Gray Fox or Sonic the Hedgehog, and they were in Brawl.

Yeah, although Sonic is kind of a special case (given Sega's defunct rivalry with Nintendo) and Solid Snake was apparently the product of the two games' producers being best buddies, and... wait, who was Gray Fox again?
Regardless, I have no idea how active Oddworld Inhabitants still are as a company, whether they'd be okay with it, or even if Abe is still popular enough for Nintendo to go to the trouble.
I'm with you 100% on this, though! That would be a character announce (other than Miis) for me to actually get excited about!

Also I never actually finished Abe's Oddysee. It was too hard for me to complete as a kid, and I guess my older relatives gave up on it as well. I'm going to have to go back to it one day, and struggle through the frustration of mis-timing a jump by fractions of a second and being messily devoured... but I'll do it. o_o7

Thing is, oddworld as a series is very underrepresented on Nintendo platforms to justify inclusion in smash bros. Only very obscure Nintendo hand held versions and the upcoming new and tasty feature Abe. Snake can be justified since metal gear was born on the Nes and sonic was one of Nintendo's biggest rival properties that has also appeared in many games on Nintendo platforms

TSnake can be justified since metal gear was born on the Nes

MSX2. The NES version was a shitty port that added stupid mazes, removed metal gear and the associated puzzle and split apart the base more than necessary. It was out months before the NES version.

Not that I particularly care about metal gear, but you can at least get your facts right.
