that is a plunger.

it is a common device that is used to release stoppages in plumbing. the cup (the pink part) is pushed down against the drain opening, and either pressed hard into the drain to force air in, or is pushed down until the rubber cup is flattened, then pulled out, causing a vacuum that attracts material. the intent is to loosen or break up a clog caused by excessive material in the drain.

it is there as a reference to the stereotype that all poles are plumbers, which in turn came to be from the mass migration of polish tradesmen in the past decade.

and the ball inside the plunger is roma, in case you're interested

Happeh: Cutest little puppy (off a leash, for some reason?) ran towards my bike when I was out yesterday, and then started crawling all over it when I stopped in an attempt to not smoosh his head.

Dumb as a brick, of course. "Oh, let's run at the fast thing hurtling toward us!" and the owner wasn't much better "Let's put the puppy off the leash, and the bigger, old dog on it! BRILLIANT!" but the puppy was d'aw so it's okay :3

Also, I had wondered for a moment why some of the carribean islands had halos, then realized that those are the Saint ___ islands like Saint Martinique and Saint Kitts. And lol on flat surfboard Chile.
