Hitler as a pop icon is kind of a thing sporadically all across South and East Asia. India, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. It's partly ignorance, partly admiration for a "strong leader", and partly just the visual kitsch. Also, not many Jews.

I mean, here in the West we pretty regularly use Stalin for tongue-in-cheek humor, because "Hey, guy with big funny mustache!" despite the fact that he killed more Russians than Hitler.

I think he's a pop icon everywhere in Asia. He's just not popular in the Phillipines because the filipinos are westernized.

Also I'm surprised we don't have the Japanese equivalent, then again Japan probably erased said war criminal from records.

So remember my pleasant encounter with the Bookdepository guys about my late How to Draw book? How they said they'd send a replacement copy and all?

Well, as it turns out, the originally ordered book arrived this morning (is awesome btw) and I've sent them a mail about that. They said that they've already shipped the replacement so that I might as well keep it

But yeah, that's pretty cool of them. Even if it does cost 'em.
