Every Kaiju fan is hoping for that. But remember, for every Pacific Rim, there are three 1998 Godzilla films. The true era of Kaiju films will begin when the age of super hero films end. Because that's the way I can best make sense of golden eras in film.

How would they go about with that? The portal has been closed, so it would have to be a prequel. Unless they pull some bs out for the portal.

EDIT: Just read a rumor that hinted at ever bigger, badder kaiju which would require Jaegers that can combine into a Super-Jaeger to fight it.
