Thought: The best way to adapt the Silmarillion would be as an anime.

Sadly, I'm not the one who had this thought. But it's a good one. I think you'd have to have different genres for each major arc, though.

EDIT: I would kill to see Trigger adapt the Lay of Leithian, is what I'm saying here.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

No such rule saying that that's true. :P

Seriously, while this sounds great, I want to take a break posting stuff on the Music thread for a while; been posting many stuff that I fancied for a while.

Yeah. That tale in particular would make for a really easy adaptation.

Seeing as I was too tired yesterday and just woke up now, I think this still counts.

One of my cousins that I'm good friends with graduated with a valedictorian.

Not sure where you heard that. It's half price everywhere I look, $30. I got it for that much.
That's still the price of a year or so old big AAA release (vague research). For what is essentially a demo.
Essentially a demo? Yeah, that's... just wrong. There's lots in it.
According to Wikipedia there is only one map and has a lot of the missions show off new features like the vehicles. Sounds like a demo to me.

If a demo is about 20 hours of gameplay, yeah, you're right.

We have about 16 copies in my store. Most of the customers cited less than 10 hours of gameplay, and took a huge loss (of course) to turn it back in to us.

So how much of that 10-20 hours is gameplay and how much is shitty cutscenes?

The Stanley Parable is amazing.

I mean, some of the endings are pretty soul crushing. But the game is mostly hilarious, and really well written.

Saw Godzilla with the family, enjoyed it. Got delicious fried chicken for a late lunch/early dinner.

Much better day today.

IGN says that the main mission is only worth about two hours, three if you dawdle. There's a handful of sidequests that beef up the playtime (and dicking around, of course,) and the cutscenes aren't overly long.
