Actually, kilograms is the base unit of mass, despite having the prefix. It's one of the few logical flaws in the SI base system.

I've never heard a satisfactory explanation as to why. One idea I've heard of is that since the kilogram is still defined by a physical mass (as opposed to a physical constant), they need to keep it reasonably large to make sure any possible discrepancies in the mass are negligible, whereas with a single gram mass any fluctuation would have a thousand times more significant effect.

There's an artifact platinum war hammer in France that it's based off of, set to be the standard for exactly one kg. It used to be defined as 1000cc of water, but they decided to go with an artifact instead. I think now they're working on finding a physical constant to base it off of, so it can be determined exactly by reproducible experiments.

Shit, energy is defined in terms of mass (J=kg m²/s²). That doesn't work.

Saw Sabaton and Iced Earth at a tiny bar the other night.  The audio was not well balanced but the bands themselves were pumped to be there.  Excellent wall of sound on a Tuesday night.

Always great to hear of big-time bands playing small venues. I personally don't really like larger venues and stadiums and stuff.
Much more enjoyable to see a band up close. The Bronx are playing at a little bar in my city next month and I could hardly be more excited.

wouldn't 'Grams' be the base unit?

That's one thing that bugged me in Eve Online, cargo volume measured in m^3.

is 10m^3 10,000 liters, or 1,000,000 liters?
that is, a cube 10 meters on a side, or 10 one meter cubes?
why didn't they just use kiloliters?

A cubic meter is a unit, you don't solve for cubed. :v Not even sure how you would get 1mill liters from 10^3...?

Anyway, 1m^3 is 1 000 liters so :v

Also, there are some attempts to get a math-based unit of mass, instead of an object-based one. I think there's two different paths in the works? One's using some weird gizmo doohicky, didn't really look into it, and the other is taking a perfect silicon sphere (like, smoother than the earth, on a relative scale) that is "1kg" as it stands now, and then measuring the number of silicon atoms (This is like, REALLY pure stuff. Almost every single atom would be silicon)

And then saying "1 kg is such-and-such a number of silicon atoms!"

Hey presto, a purely mathematical (as long as you know how much a silicon atom weighs :v I sense a problem!) solution.

To sum it up, it looks pretty damn awesome actually with Frank Underwood, hoverbikes, Frank Underwood, exoskeletons, Frank Underwood, flying drones,  Frank Underwood, spiderman gloves and last but not least Frank Underwood.

Seriously, this is one of the coolest crossovers I have seen, they've put a guy who liked playing CoD in House of Cards as a power hungry president into CoD itself. I just hope they don't resist the potential inception joke of running into him playing CoD
