Wrote this about my daily walk home. Nice bit of countryside.

Oh waterfall and drinking dell
Where rises water from the ground,
And grassy verge of hilly mound
Where grass and flowers are found.

There standing stone and open gate
Await my eager steps-
There rises earth in sensual bounds,
And ‘twixt them lies the shaded depths.

Through stream and hedge and up the bank
And over pastured field,
The mountains rising overhead,
What mighty power they wield!

But nonetheless I venture on
Where sun is painting green
The sides of hills in emerald guise
To make this special scene.

And on- And on- the sky is lit
With blazing life and aqua grace,
The trees are burnished gold, the clouds
Are churning, whitened lace.

A stream is running on the lane,
It cuts in two my path-
I walk its length and leave behind
That liquid, churning bath.

Around me rise in grandeur trees
That long have stood in place.
They’ve battled storm, defeated frost-
Preserved their ancient race.

They make for me unwittingly
A path on which to tread
That’s dappled black and bright by boughs
That rise above my head.

So on I walk, and more I see,
Of this my place on earth.
I feel, I know, that it is filled-
Instilled intrinsic worth.

Only the first part of that's happy, so...

Compensation: I am within a short distance of the city I spent the first 11 years of my life in, and will get to see my old house!

I've been reading Will Save World for Gold for a bit. Mostly a sprite comic (I guess.), but it's pretty well done. OotS is an obvious one, of course. There's at the very least a couple more I'm forgetting, as well.
