The series started out building momentum at a fairly linear rate, I feel like. Each episode was better than the last, but it all felt like a natural progression. You can pinpoint the exact moment the show kicked into overdrive and factorial growth was achieved for no adequately explained reason. It's amazing, and I will love it forever.

EDIT: Link does potentially contain spoilers, but I'm skeptical that you'd be able to process what's happening until you know it's inevitable that it's going to happen. Still, warning.
