And 'tough it out' refers to pain tolerance (slash-laziness)... So not sure where the size of one's muscles applies.

Ehh? Tough = Strength. Strength = Muscle fibers, the basic cell of the muscle. Therefore the concept of being tough is attributed to the muscles.

And/or the ability to withhold an adverse reaction to pain, emotionally (with the usual reaction being stoic) or physically.

So yeah, my thoughts.

Also oh goodness. I really don't think pinching helps more than adding pressure given the way the skin works in those wounds, but that's just me...

Worship is fun, but it's also kind of fun to evolve a murder-Neurax too, because they do some pretty awful stuff. With the right evolutions, you're digesting their brain, making them go three or so types of insane, making them kill themselves, and making them fight and kill each other.

Also, the computer version has zombies, but they haven't released them just yet. ;_;
