I don't see why we need to stick with tradition if it is failing us, and the tradition of "A marriage is between only THESE two types of prescribed consensually-loving people and not those other type of people who love each other consensually!" fails us.

There's also the state-interest angle. Marriage is as much for ensuring stability of a childs upbringing as it is for producing those children. Which is more stable, a same-sex parenting with two loving fathers/mothers at home, or foster-care, jumping from house-to-house?

and if you even say one word about incestual, animal, pedophilic, or inanimate-object marriage, i'm gonna open up a dictionary to the word consensual and slam your face in it >:C

I'm not using this as an argument or anything, but you mentioning that made me remember a funny story about a guy who applied for a license to marry his Ford Mustang. He put down 'her' blood type  as 'V8'.
Anyway.
I remember reading a study that found that children in same-sex families don't develop that well. I don't remember where I read it because I found it through a news article about an activist who attempted to massacre the think-tank responsible and smear Chick-Fil-A(no joke) all over their faces. (He failed. He couldn't even get past the security guard in the lobby.) Not sure whether that would be worse than a foster home or not, though. Am typing this response on a crappy cell phone, will respond in full later.
