Am making good progress. I've stopped chewing my fingernails (3 days and counting!), and I'm down under 215 lbs, although tonight's dinner (homemade stroganoff) may have pushed me back over that mark. ^_^ I was at 245ish when I met Wolfeyez.

On the other hand, (ha!) my fingernails feel really weird. They're just starting to show a little bit of white on the tips, but they haven't been that long since I was 11 or so, when I started wrestling. You have to keep your nails short, or you can be disqualified from matches, so I just chewed them short and have kept them that way since.

I had a bad experience with a referee when I was younger. I had longer fingernails, and it was either clip them, or get dq'ed. So, the ref clipped them for me, made my fingers bleed (he cut the quicks of my fingernails), and dq'ed me anyway because of my "open wounds". From then on, I just clipped them with my teeth.

If I can't use another fingernail to get one off, I use my teeth for assistance.
I don't bite them, though, I sort of.. Chip away at them. It's hard to explain in words.

It's something I do a lot... I know I really shouldn't, but it's a nervous habit, I run my feel the tips of my fingers a lot, and I just, frequently feel the urge to remove the nails... It's a habit I only really picked up after I became heavily depressed later in life oddly enough, as a child I never bit my nails.

I use a file half the time and clippers the rest. I have special ones that catch the nails when you clip them so I can watch TV while I'm doing it.
