Holy shit, all these people I don't talk to that I need to talk to! I was vaguely aware of a person named Ein who may or may not have been trans but other than that I was not aware. I'm quite honestly surprised at the number of trans folk on this board, but then again, they don't seem to make as big a deal of it as I do.

Side note: The sheer number of MtF folk here is one of the big reasons I feel interests are heavily influenced by culture. Lots of women raised as men seem to like stereotypically masculine video games.

Well, a lot of guys also like The Sims, a stereotypically feminine game. I think trying to rigidly divide things between genders is dumb. Girls are going to like boy things, boys are going to like girl things. There's really no way to keep one out of the others' interests, even with (as we've seen with gaming) intense verbal abuse.

I'd guess at least half of us play it with some frequency. I mean, something must have lured us all to this forum mostly revolving around DF.

The RTD and Mafia boards are actually pretty large draws. To my understanding we have the largest RTD board that there is, in terms of the number of simultaneously active games and long-running games, and our Mafia board is one of the bigger ones as well. FG&RP in general is extremely active, considering that B12 is nominally about something else entirely.

Plus many people stop playing DF, or go on hiatus - like me. It's the kind of forumite that has migrated from the upper to the lower boards, as opposed to those that arrived here directly.

Frustration with my latest megaproject, along with some real life stuff, put me on hiatus.

I play occasionally, but mostly I just sit, read the devlogs and froth over the next version.

In a bid to fix up my sleeping patterns, I just forced myself to stay abed from 11PM to 7AM, regardless of whether or not I could get to sleep. Unlike last time I tried this when I had the first nightmare of my adult life, I had a freakin' awesome dream about some sort of post-apocalyptic world where the people who were left seemingly lived in walled towns, did lots of drugs, and partied like crazy to good music.

Later on I seemed to take the role of (or the dream started to follow) some sort of ranger in the wasteland, which was pretty cool.
Oh and I watched David Bowie live, playing music that seemed far more awesome than most of his stuff IRL.

I actually like DF, just I don't really play it much anymore. Partly since I heavily dislike dwarves, and the game is a bit of a pain to get back into after waiting too long.

This is what I usually do. But I end up wanting to make it myself and then I go all ocd perfectionist on it and it takes forever.

Maybe Ill mod a bit every sunday till I get it all set up for me to attempt playing one of the newer versions finally. I think the last time I played the game the newest thing was some very light stuff involving books and magic and the descriptions when looking at someone.

I think the new release is genuinely getting close now.  And I'm totally excited.  Except I have to keep in mind that I will also have to wait for Therapist and Hack to catch up, which could also take months.
