You will have missed... hmm, let me think about it.

Character introductions, mostly, but half of these people are irrelevant anyway. The other half are kinda ineffectual. There's a bit more like that. Act 6 is terribly teen-drama, but I'm sure it's way easier to get through on an archive reading. Which is the only way to read now, since updates are over until the next one, which is the last one.

Maybe someone will compile a shorter, more effective summary of the story and I can read that. Like how someone will probably recut The Hobbit movie into one much better 2-hr film by removing all the LoTR tie-ins and idiotic dwarf antics.

Loaded up Brutal Doom for the first time this morning, and ran through the first level of Doom II before work.

Why did I wait so long to do this.  It's full of HUGE GUTS!

Going to LAN this with the kids tonight.  It will be great.

What Source Port are you using? I'm quite the fan of doom. I was wondering if anyone would like to co-op it on nightmare or something. :)

I'm using Zandronum.

My 9 year old has also been interested in making LPs for a long time now.  So I think I'll humor him.  We're going to co-op this tonight, record it, and throw it up on the tubes if we produce anything fun.  It will be his first time playing Doom, so this should be pretty entertaining.

In what sense?  He'll probably just freak out obnoxiously at everything while I run around and make all the progress :P

I forgot how much fun IRC roleplaying is. All that improvisation! All that on-the-fly thinking! It's so fun.

Imagine how good it is while pushing little figurines around, rolling actual dice, and scoffing cheetos and mountain dew.

Hey you saw my post about starting a D&D game in Kent, WA (which is going well so far). But if you're looking at a six-day commute I'd have to say it's not worth it ;P

I realize it's mostly exhaustion and hunger, but I have just amused myself entirely too much with the creation of ghetto croutons.

... which is to say I just chopped up a couple pieces of toast.

And I'm going to throw it into a horrible concoction of ramen drained of broth mixed with off-brand chefboyardee, cheese, and copious spices.

And ghetto croutons.

You mean people make croutons other ways than that?

All croutons are ghetto croutons, then. In fact you're supposed to use somewhat stale but not yet moldy bread, spice it, cook in an oven to dry it out completely.

If you took fresh preserved sliced bread and threw it in the toaster ... yeah that's not gourmet right there but it'll do. It'll do.

Look. Just, look.

I have no idea how croutons are made. I'm not entirely sure what they are. I guess they're bread? I don't know.

Proper croutons come in little packages and are crunchy and kinda' taste like chex-mix, but worse. This being america, they're probably made of soy or something made from reprocessed corn or dead baby eagles or something. These are none of those. This is just toasted bread, hacked up and thrown in a stereotypical bachelor's monstrosity (total cost maybe a buck fifty including spices and cheese and bread. Over pound of disturbingly edible food!).

Thus they are ghetto croutons. Proper croutons are packaged and come from mysterious corners of the agricultural business no one survives asking about.

No, I mean, I seriously used chopped toast for 95% of things that called for croutons.
