I beat FTL ten minutes ago. Okay, easy mode, but still.

I got lucky with a pair of mantis and bought a teleporter. Then I ripped every crew I could put my hands claws on to shred, gaining insane money.

Oh, and a weapon pre-igniter with a volley of 5 lasers, a breach bomb and a hull beam helps.

Too bad I didn't pick the cloak, that would've been !!FUN!! (volley, cloak, second volley?)

Second run ever. The first one led me to sector five. Easy mode as well.

PS: I now understand why that steam guide put the ships with 4-men teleporters as the most OP ones. Teleporter IS great!

I don't even know what I'm doing anymore - I have a "number of successes" mechanic in a system that is not a dice pool. I am just going to shit out a complete copy of these rules, and then edit them. Trying to close inconsistencies or loopholes as I go is getting me stuck in one hell of a rut, where I can convince myself I'm working on a game without ever actually making progress. But this is happy, because it means that for the time being, things are going to be very silly, but they're also going to happen.

IIRC, the second crystal cruiser AND the mantis cruiser (again, second, IIRC) get four-person teleporters.

And they are unstoppable.
