I have to question the idea that there is a real future in banking. They're...not exactly paragons of stability.

"So, ever since the end of the fiat economy, what we do is laser-slice an eighth of a gold bar for every month you store these other gold bars. If you have enough in here, though, you get some other peoples' gold laser slices. A thousand bars is maybe enough to get a watch-sized slice, but interest rates have been dropping lately. Wall Street investors just aren't able to haul that much silver every day without breaking their backs. Times are tough."

Why were you wrestling with your router? Generally when i wrestle with my router i have to buy a new one. Maybe mine are just too fragile.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Actual happies for today: got very detailed feedback on my economics project. Professor tore me a new asshole for the poor parts of the analysis. Professors who genuinely adore their subject tend to be very critical with grades and feedback because they actually enjoy new, interesting work in that subject.

I've got a teacher who does that too.  He's passionate about cyber security, if anyone's paper sucks he'll harp them on it like there's no tomorrow.  He's also a pretty cool guy once you finally get to know him (had him as an instructor for 4 semesters now, and I'll have him next semester as well).

It's refreshing to have a teacher/instructor who is actually passionate about the topic content.  Makes class a lot more interesting.

I just finished my math exam.

I spent the first hour or so just reading the questions. Some of them required us to use equations in ways we were never taught. Mostly because we were never given equations in the first place, and instead told to just use the calculator. But the calculator can't solve an altered equation, it needs specific numbers, which made life difficult for those who only knew the calculator.

Once I got the hang of it, I found it was actually pretty easy. Though because of the time I wasted just reading things over and looking at my equations sheet I only got out about ten minutes before time was up. Most people were still doing the test when I left.

Some of the rules they have for the exam seem excessive, though.

Indeed. I would pay for such a program.
It's a tiny program, only 100 working lines of code. All it does is read the image's pixels and convert them to ABC notation. To work on your computers, this program would require an ABC-to-MIDI converter (which is freely available online), and if you want it right this instant, you'll need a Perl interpreter too (I can recode it in Java if you have the patience).
