Fun Fact: The symptoms of a cold is actually your body overreacting to a nearly harmless virus. A fair few people are immune to colds because their immune system doesn't overreact.

Well, the cold does still do stuff to you. Colds are retrovirii, they embed their DNA into yours to replicate (To seriously condense the principle). So those people aren't really immune to colds.

Their immune systems just don't go batshit bananas as soon as one appears.

Well, yeah. It's just that the virus causes nowhere near as much damage as the immune system's reaction would indicate.

I know! It's fantastic. When we learned that in med, the whole class was one giant box of WTF.

If you think about it, it's kinda similar to a species-wide allergy, although thankfully not nearly as drastic - allergic responses are your immune system deciding that peanuts or suntan lotion or whatever are fucking radioactive commies from space and the only way they'll get your body is from the immune system's cold, dead hands.

Small note: I am fascinated and amused by some of the weirdest things.
