Playing Minecraft, enjoying the 1.7 update, and realizing that it will probably continue to be updated for quite a while.
You know I hate to be a killjoy in the happy thread but... God I hope not.
Minecraft works best as a platform for mods. The more vanilla content they add, the more out of place many mods seem. The most welcome update I can picture would be native mod support that doesn't require forge, and packing up most of the current content into some dev released mod packs for us to use optionally.

That'd be interesting. Update the base of the game to extend mod-ability, add in the actual items and such into a "Vanilla" mod.

I'd love if more games did things that way. Framework and a swapable body.

Anyway, I wanna get a sherwani and a tartan sash and cloth belt. :I The belt is the hard part to find, though. ;-;

I can see what you mean. Mods seeming out of place is because Minecraft is starting to develop more of a theme, sort of. I know Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is going to be taking the approach you're talking about, and I think it would be extremely cool if they did that, though it should probably default to having most included just for the sake of new players.

Mugen is absolutely right.

The amount of unchecked privilege in this demo is disgusting. I was outraged when I was forced to pick a complex life form. I mean, does Fenoxo even know how many single cell amoebas there are out there?! I don’t think I should be forced into playing some sort of highly evolved creature just because my characters consciousness happened to win the biological lottery and inherit a host with trillions of cells as opposed to just one.

Mugen is half right. This story needs to show a true sense of progression and achievement. I want to experience a fictitious pornographic tale that takes my PC from being a single cell amoeba, to a fully evolved human being in a sci-fi setting – I want to experience billions of years of hot protozoan on protozoan action.

Only then can Fenoxo claim to have made a story that truly shows a protagonist’s rise to prominence.

"750 by 1500"
fixd
Lazy transcription error, the problem actually states $4 by $3... Also I think I failed to account for the opposite sides so my answer is all wrong anyway.

Well it would be easy enough to have the initial download start with all the vanilla content files, then you can remove them if required.
So for example if you wanted a sci fi only type game you can take out the pack for enchanting and the neither...

Admittedly this was all done with tabs, so it's not really all that special, but it's better than not playing guitar at all like the last couple weeks.
I wouldn't say that, I can play sheet music fine but tabs are completely lost on me. How do you even read that shit?

Left to right, up to down. All six (four for bass) lines represent a single line of text. Horizontal lines are strings, numbers are frets it's played on.

Techniques have a set of common symbols, like XhY for hammer-on (upwards legato) from fret X to Y (by analogy p for pull-off), [X]/Y for slides (if there is no X, it's unpitched), etc.
Pretty much this. The only reason why I dislike using tabs for learning is that I feel it's too hand-holdy for me. Then again, I expect myself to be able to learn an entire song by ear on the first try so maybe I expect too much of myself. Now, if I had learned all those songs by ear, I'd be absolutely ecstatic. That's like musical wizardry.

Personally I haven't read sheet music since middle school band, and it's become a lost art to me. I wouldn't know how to translate it from sheet music to guitar stuff.

I wouldn't know how not to...

Middle A is middle A. Doesn't matter what string you play it on.

Boyfriend wanted me to read the first two pages of my NaNoWriMo novel.  He liked it :D said it's rough around the edges, and could use more "show, don't tell" but overall was interesting and he essentially wanted to hear more about it.

Yay! @_@

Cucumber Quest. Just... Cucumber Quest.

More examples of media need spontaneous opera/play arcs as part of their plot.

True. Like I said though, I forget how to properly read sheet music, which makes the whole process kinda difficult.

I could probably relearn how to read sheet music, if I actually put in the time to do it. Just like if I put in time I could probably learn to sweep pick, or learn another coding language, or learn to speak ye olde viking speak, or learn to play piano, or play more Dwarf Fortress, or successfully ascend a character in Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, or start my pokemon let's play back up, or learn to juggle, etc.

Anyways, my happy- I've discovered MUDs, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the basis behind it, and is Linux-OK. At this point, I just need to find one to stick to! I've dipped a toe into Aardwolf, Batmud, Medievia, DiscworldMUD from years ago... Exploration/puzzles is it for me, seconded by the gameplay to back them up, hold the heavy roleplay, please. If any of you have a suggestion for a MUD that more accurately fits my bill, I'm all ears, but even in the dozen hours I've put into investigating the first two in these past few days, I've been thoroughly entertained.

I always got lost in MUD's. Probably because I don't remember the description I just read but the lack of landmarks means every town is a labyrinthine mass of tunnels. I do remember playing the DiscworldMUD briefly though, think I made a thief or tried to join the watch or assassins guild.
