I just got back from drinking with three professional mathematicians :D

This could be fun times. Was it fun times?

Yes!!  It was great.  We talked about poetry and plants and told funny anecdotes.  And I got made over a lot by the older mathematicians for being clever, and also free food and root beer and a drive home.  >w<

Once again, allowing my computer to bypass a Youtube "feature" has improved the website's functionality dramatically.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Come on home Niccolo!

Hell yes, Aussie Bay12ers!

Although you probably live on the East Coast... I'm a Perthite myself. Man, I am looking forward to getting home. Spain's all well and good, but I miss English.

Melbourne is the highest density, I believe, but there're also a few in nebulous-southern-NSW-or-ACT and one or two in Brissy.
