Went to a club yesterday.
It's common knowledge that there are no good clubs in my town.

That common knowledge is fase!
Music was good, drinks were expensive but not ridiculously so, you could go close to the entrance (up some stairs) where air got in to cool off without leaving the club, the bouncers weren't assholes, the interior's nice, etc etc.
And it's called "Das Sofa" - translates as "The Couch".

The only slight WTF was that there were at least two statues of the Virgin Mary in there. Meh, they looked nice~

I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

Did I mention that I recently aquired The Hitchhiker's Guide and another Douglas Adams book? I was looking around the measly English section in my local library, and after passing up on a lonely Pratchett book (Witches Abroad), I happened upon the books of Douglas Adams, huddled away in a corner. Time to read~
Ooh, what's the other one? I always felt like his [few] non-HHGttG stuff needs more love.
Like Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective agency. Love that one...

* SSG makes a note to reread Dirk Gently again soon.
Yeah, it's the Dirk Gently one. I mainly took it with me because the second book was gone.

I was busy stocking some stuff at work, and I notice someone passing behind me. I turn around and it's that girl I like, giving me the biggest smile I've ever seen her with as she walks by. It's competing hard with being told the timeframe of me being put on the payroll at work as the thing that made that day incredibly awesome.

While I still can't get a moment to sit down to talk with her, which is beginning to annoy me, the fact that she's the one who initiated that eye contact means that much of the insecurity I've had about talking to her was unnecessary.

I spilled water on my laptop, so I dried it off and then turned it over to try and get the water out.  Thought that was the end of it, then the computer started having minor glitches unrelated to anything I was doing (for example, pressing t or g would press both of them).

Long story short I learned that I shouldn't have my computer on until the water had time to dry, so I took the battery out and then waited ~30 hours tensely waiting to see if my laptop was going to be irreparably broken.  Turns out its completely fine!

Warning: music theory radiation levels abnormal ahead.

I've found out a chord shape for guitar that makes for awesome scare chords. It's either Dm6/9 or E 11(b9), depending on how you look at it. I can finally make my dream of playing a 'a serial killer is stalking you' motif come true.

Just learned how to make screensavers my desktop, more or less, although it hides the icons; but nonetheless, it kinda works better this way (desktop's getting cluttered again). If I need to access things again, I can always hit the Windows button, and/or hit the 'show desktop' command.

For example, run cmd and type this in
(Screensaver).scr /p65552
And there you go.

Alternatively, you can also make a .BAT file to load it up, or have it run on startup.

Electric Sheep running in the background (and not accidentally closing it; besides the classic ALT-F4 method) is definitely better than a static desktop image, and I can watch something going on in the background while I have things going on in smaller windows (and it's ever-changing as well). Definitely makes working with text and other projects a bit better, and I think the program continues to contribute/render and such.

EDIT:
I also learned how to do similar with VLC player and videos, though that's not as good as watching it in fullscreen mode.

I think so. Only setback is that it'll still take up taskbar space while open and if you're an Aero user, it'll go to default form when active, and reset back to Aero when closed or turned off.

EDIT:
Confirmed for sound. Now I need to find some VLC video stations or find some perfectly looping videos to have on hand.

EDIT EDIT:
Playing (windowed) games that have a delayed startup, and having the screensaver desktop up before it loads gives me the entire screen of real estate to play with, so no accidentally opening things when out of window. Plus, I got a trippy background to play along with.
