Biomedical engineering is a thing I could possibly do with the grades I'm getting and the courses I'm taking (no course is set in stone until I take it and start work on it, and I can only do that to one course at a time)

Rather than take Psychology and hope to finagle that into a neuro-engineering research career, I'll just take bio-med engineering and do a neuro minor.

B-M E is actually a very very decent major. In fact, if you're decent at it, you're generally not going to have much problems with cash-not-havery, and if you're actually going to pursue your goals by looking into technology, it's a good choice as well.

EDIT: Rocksmith 2014 is coming out tomorrow. Three-way battle between heart, conscience and wallet commence.

Yeah, BME is an excellent major if you can do well in the classes. It's in very high demand, and the dropout rate (or at least what I've seen) for it means that an overabundance isn't likely.

Rain... Thunder... My old friends, welcome back! I have missed you so... You know how poorly I sleep without you! Please don't leave me again, not for so long. I miss your sound, even your smell.

You know I know this is crazy, but I'm seriously thinking of just sleeping on the roof tonight. It is warm enough, and it has just been too long since I last slept in a downpour.

waking up and having a thunderstorm begin half an hour after you do so is the most evil thing nature can do to you, short of deploying a tactical waspnado

seriously considered calling in sick and going back to bed then

I have to admit, I found the latest spam to be hilarious.

Especially the "real license" part.

I'd certainly would love a magic driving license that was real and would thus bestow upon me magical driving powers.

Curry for breakfast.
Why does it feel so good when it feels so wrong?

I don't understand. What feels wrong about curry for breakfast? It's more or less the ideal breakfast food.

Also, this Discrete Mathematics book, which I've only just now started reading (because I am a useless piece of shit), is good stuff. Formal logic is at once straightforward and confusing. It is just so difficult to internalize that A->B is true if A is false, no matter what. I understand why they did it that way, kind of, but the notion of "I can't know" is just so intuitive to me that it constantly asserts itself as the answer to that sort of thing. Ah well, this is just the very beginning, so I'll need to get over that.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
