The urinal represents the internet?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Also, today is my GF's birthday and she was thrilled with her gift (an audiobook of Neil Gaiman's latest novel), and I'm picking up my daughter early from school so we can go to the State Fair and she can ride her first roller coaster and Ferris wheel and probably eat something deep-fried.

The state fair is an excellent exercise in skepticism. What's a scam? What isn't? What am I likely to get sick and die from eating? Why do the mountain people spend so much time coming down here for this?

I'm not sure if it's mountain people or hillfolk or perhaps the tribes of the coastal plains. Perhaps all three.

Now, you want to see a fine display of "The Hills Have Eyes"-type shit, go to the Lexington Barbecue Festival some time. I did that once. Once.
I think just by being in attendance, me and my small group of friends raised the average number of teeth per mouth rather considerably, and lowered the Confederate flag quotient at the same time.  :-\

The manager handed me an application, and told me to fill it out over the weekend so I could be hired next week. Huzzah, paid employment!

Heh, if you want a real "fun" time, go to the Knob Creek gun show. It's one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen, and I say that remembering that I was chased by a guy with a running chainsaw at a cut-rate haunted house in some slumlord's apartment block when I was seven years old.

Someone tell me, what's the longest forum thread on the internet right now?
I feel like this is arguably one of the longer ones out there, though prolly not THE longest.

[/offtopic-ish]

On topic, I had a nostalgia strike today, with this. Gotta praise my friend for that.
Granted it's not a topnotch game, but damn, it was still fun for what it did back then.

Look here:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum

For example this one is close to 4 million replies. I am sure there are longer ones, didn't really look around much but been active there years ago and remember having seen pretty huge threads. click me
