I wonder why they went with all this trouble. I mean, various sight problems are already solved by replacing the lens of your eye.

This method does replace the lens, too. The thing is they use the patient's own body for the elements that hold it in place, and that has the advantage of not making the immune system go into red alert and try to murderize the fixed eye's important parts.
The lens does look rather small, though, and incapable of dilating. Or is that not a problem for some reason?

'That's just.... not right!

So, cheerleader, a humanoid animal, a mascot, and vore. Did somebody just go through a laundry list of fetishes before deciding to do that?

If it's too small, the worst that could happen is bad low-light vision, but even that is better than, y'know, no vision at all. If it was too large, it would be a problem since cone/rod (and/or, can't remember) cells get damage when the light is excessive, but well, it isn't.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I never meant to imply that the idea is bad. Just curious about it's limitations.

Sorry if I sounded aggressive. But yeah, mostly an issue with low-light vision.

The difference between the amount of light in two eyes is not much of a problem, you can see how it feels by covering one of your eyes for a couple of minutes and looking at a bright area with the other, then uncovering the eye.

The tooth gives the lens a platform. I think it's for eyes where an artificial lens wouldn't stay put.

I thought it was to prevent rejection by the immune system. We don't need no Adam Jensen, just use a tooth.

Blind Man Regains Sight After Science Implants A Tooth Into His Eye
So amazing if you've seen the details behind it O_o
I mean, sure, it may be a bit out of the ordinary to see how it looks physically, but darn is it awesome.

Well that is pretty awesome.
I guess I kind of get why they used teeth.
Somehow, this makes me think of Dwarf Fortress.
The surgeon grabs the patient's eye with his tooth!
The tooth has become firmly lodged inside the patient's eye!
The patient's eyesight has been restored!

I hope I did that right :V

I had a meal of what was basically steak tartare. Delicious, although in retrospect it's a meal that definitely calls for having bread on hand.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

The grammar in the first one is a bit misleading. It sounds like the doctor bit the patient in the eye *ugh*
