Kind of both. The texture includes the application of a glass filter, which applies its own lighting in the process, but most of it is part of an emboss layer style that automatically handles it and adapts to whatever changes you make (which I assume is what you mean by shaded).

So my 6 yr old daughter has "Maths Day" in school tomorrow, which entails dressing up as something mathsy. So, I buy her a lil white boiler suit and have covered it with around 500 maths and physics principles/equations. Her class teacher will no doubt assume most of it is made up nonsence, but a little part of me is kinda all gooey about my kid wandering around tomorrow with this stuff all over her...

Good Old Games carries Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 with all their expansions, and all the IWD games. I am buying them all on Wednesday, because BALDUR'S MOTHERFUCKING GATE, MAN. HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED THAT SHIT?! If I was trapped in a 8x8 room for the rest of my life with all my needs fulfilled and only Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 to keep me entertained, well, I wouldn't consider myself 'trapped'. Joyously confined, perhaps.

I've had a short play idea I've been sitting on for a few years, and I'm starting to have the guts to look at the old documents and consider writing it up to submit to a competition or anthology.  It's kind of nice to have five or six different creative ideas going that I actually have the talent, knowhow, and skillbase to carry out from start to finish.  Some of them even have outlines!
