What's wrong with unity web player?

I've attempted to download and install the bloody thing a dozen times now, to no avail.

I'm working on editing a poetry translation.  Fourteen stanzas of a brutally strict, unusual rhythm, with all kinds of secondary structures.  It's for a contest submission in a few months. . . we've been working on this poem for two years now, and he finally got the final stanza right.  That one is completely flawless.

All the others need a little work, with most of them close but not-quite there.  But that one. . . THAT one is flawless.  If we could translate the whole thing to that level, I'm pretty sure we'd be firmly on the map.

Windows 7. ToS agreement comes up, progress bar after accepting, "Unity Web Player has been installed on your computer. Click Finish to close Setup."
And yet it still doesn't work :/

Windows 7. ToS agreement comes up, progress bar after accepting, "Unity Web Player has been installed on your computer. Click Finish to close Setup."
And yet it still doesn't work :/

Huh. So when you check out the list of plugins/extensions for your browser, it's not there? What about http://unity3d.com/webplayer does that give you anything?

Nada, zip, zilch. Though apparently my other plugins (Java, Flash) are out of date, so maybe that's causing problems.

I played Ascension for the first time last night. That game is really, really fun. I'm probably going to go out and buy it today.

So, two things:

1) Had an exam today which I thought would allow me to pick (within limits) what topics I wanted to be tested in. Correspondingly, I knew literally next to nothing about a whole section of the stuff I was supposed to learn.
The exam did not allow me to pick. And the stuff I had not learned was about one third of the whole exam.
I passed anyway. Cue Beethoven's ninth, final chorus.

2) Met a new flatmate of mine today. She's also studying mathematics, she's pretty cool, and she's jewish (actually observing stuff like "no milk and meat at the same time", but not in a fundamentalist way) with a boyfriend who was in the Israeli army.
