While I was disappointed with how Doug Walker handled himself in his review of The Cell, I will say that I loved seeing footage from said movie and would like to own and watch it myself. I'm also impressed with myself that from what little was shown in that video that I can understand the message that Tarsen was trying to convey. Perhaps it takes a disturbed mind to understand the brain child of another disturbed mind? Either way it pleases me that I can get a copy of The Cell for $0.01 USD on Amazon.com, which I might do sometime after Monday or Tuesday.

Had an amazing picnic with awesome food (100-spice tofu on top of perfectly prepared green tea soba, chilled raspberry Earl Gray, bao, lemon-poppy seed cookies, hand-made ravioli, bagel chips and lox) and awesome friends and then blasted Eurobeat all the way home >_<

That food you have mentioned sounds quite delicious, especially the lemon poppy seed cookies and the iced raspberry Earl Gray. I kind of want a recipe for those cookies as I haven't done any baking in years and would like to get back into the swing of such a thing.

Finally got around to playing Star Control II / Ur-Quan Masters. Research purposes, of course. So far, it's been a pretty neat little space exploration and adventure game. I can see where Bioware got some of the inspiration for Mass Effect, particularly the uniting various alien races against a common threat, exploring planets to gather resources, and so on. Of course, Bioware added in their usual hamhanded Screw All The Cast Members angle, which I won't have to...

Those buggers are probably 75% of the reason this user name gets used in other places, though. I mean, by people not me. The actual source is somewhat less known among internet users. As in I get *frumple*d at regularly, but there's been like two people that identified where I actually took the name from.

Kratos Aurion's Japanese voice actor is the same one who did Gendo Ikari, doing pretty much exactly the same voice.

I don't know if I should feel happy or sad, especially that I recognized it from the first line.

Just visualize Gendo's face on whoever that is's body and be giddily amused.

Gendo's got one of those faces you can stick on pretty much anyone's neck and the amusement factor multiplies.

Of course, while you're laughing, Gendo-Kratos has probably shoved your parent's soul into a giant robot and wiped out 3/4ths of the world's population, but... well, just that's how Gendo rolls, really.

Okay, so if I'm translating the Orz right... they're a single extradimensional entity, with small extrusions into 3D space which appear to humans as separate entities. And they/it dragged the Androsynth into another dimension and destroyed their homeworld, because the Androsynth were too "Frumple"... which is apparently some kind of slippery bad-roundness resulting from the Dimensional Fatigue experiments they were doing? I think?

Anyway, I reloaded and tried first contact again. I love that they call the Humans "Campers". Now the Orz and Campers are extremely happy sisters; we correct each other for celebrations, enjoy the sauce, open to spread the wax, and make slippery spaces in the playground. Everything is happy town in the middle, for sure.

Whatever the fuck that means.

Basically, every conversation with them sounds like they're preparing to violate me, or recently have. It's great.
