In our IT books, there is a small (3 paragraphs of 4 lines average) section on hackers.

What cheered me up about that was that it was this (paraphrased):
"A hacker is a person that is a good programmer and can solve computer issues efficiently. Good hackers try to break into networks and then point out the security holes to the administrators. Bad hackers, however, use this skill to steal information and such".

Aka, it's not just "urr hurr hackers ermagerd watch out"

I'm pretty sure there are professional hackers you can hire to try to break into your computer security. They're called IT security consultant. Honestly, IT Security might as well be teaching people to be hackers to stop hackers.

That's literally what the CompTIA Security+ cert I took was. Beginner-level, of course, but it was basically "learn to find vulnerabilities and fix them instead of abuse them like we just taught you to."
